WHO ARE THE FACES BEHIND THE MAC FOUNDATION?
Christine Mallahan – Founding Vice President
Christine Mallahan is a retired Vehicle Identification Officer with The Washington State Patrol of 30 plus years and is proud to call Snohomish County her home. Christine was awarded the highly respected Vehicle Inspection Specialist of the year 2012 in Washington State and has worked many high profile cases for the Criminal Investigative Division. She graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Social Work. Of her prior positions within the State Patrol working Emergency Dispatch offered moving insight into human suffering. When she’s not strategizing how the MAC Foundation can make a bigger impact she is trying to plan how to spend more time with her 6 grandkids.
Michael Mallahan – Founding President
Michael is a Managing Director at AIM Consulting Group in Bellevue, Washington. He possesses 15+ years of consulting experience in the Information Technology and Telecommunication industries. He has extensive involvement in building company culture and community outreach which harmonizes perfectly with The Make A Change Foundation’s mission. Michael is a member of the Washington State University School of Business Information Systems Board of Advisors and a proud WSU Cougar. He loves to play with his two kids and if time allows sneaks in mountaineering and golfing.
Patrick Mallahan – Founding Treasurer
Patrick retired from Washington State Department of Transportation in 2012 where he worked as an engineer for over 30 years. Patrick’s highly respected experience in construction, design and project management endorsed many state and private contractors and consultants to look to him for advice. His career involved the management of numerous multi-million dollar road projects while he has also been commended by several Native American tribes for his respect for the environment and tribal rights. He is a proud United States Navy Veteran. Patrick continues his passion for public service with the MAC foundation and is driven to provide for families and children in need, they truly are the future. When Patrick is wearing his retirement hat he spends his free time golfing, boating and with his 6 grandkids.
Niki Smith – Founding Secretary
A graduate of Central Washington University and Pacific Northwest native, Niki possesses over 12 years of human resource experience and 5 years of increasing responsibility in HR Management. She is a catalyst for a series of innovative HR initiatives as a leader and problem solver. Core Competencies include international and multi-site operations, recruiting and staffing initiatives, acquisition integration, staff training and development, affirmative action implementation and management, policy and procedure development and compliance, employee resolution and discipline, and EEOC claims and investigations. Niki spends weekends between the softball and soccer fields with her husband and two busy daughters.
Kip Mallahan – Founding Board Member
Partner at Weltchek, Mallahan & Weltcheck , Lutherville, Maryland
Kristopher “Kip” Mallahan earned his Bachelors of Arts Degree cum laude from Washington State University and his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Maryland, where he was awarded the Order of Barrister for trial advocacy. Kip is a member of Maryland State Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association, Maryland Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice. Kip is thrilled to be a founding member of the MAC Foundation which makes him feel closer to home from across the country where he lives with his wife, two kids and golden retriever.
Kate Mallahan – Founding Board Member
With a background in the construction industry Kate is very familiar with what it takes to design and build. She has helped to lay the groundwork of the MAC Foundation in a way that ensures it will thrive and assist as many people as possible. She possesses a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Apparel Merchandising from Washington State University. Kate is a small business owner turned stay at home mom of two busy preschoolers. She strives to teach her two children how to serve others through example.
Aurora El Murr – Board Member
Aurora joins the Make A Change Foundation as the Director of Marketing, bringing a background in content development, social strategy and campaign management. In her current role, Aurora works as a Program Manager at Starbucks, working cross-functionally to drive a number of initiatives in the Customer Technology space. In her free time, Aurora spends time with her family, travels, stays active thanks to her high-energy Blue Heeler, and makes time to give back in her community. Aurora has a long history of volunteering her time to help support various MAC Foundation and community focused initiatives.
